Hey, Paul? Are there free ways to find the keywords you need? I just realize I have not done this yet!! SO glad to have read this post. Also, can I sneak in this question one more time? Can one of your external links be to another website you own? (ducking, because I missed the teleclass)
Paul says
Yes! You can certainly link to another website of yours! I have done that many times.
For keywords – check out Google’s Keyword Planner – you can it! (and look at that… I just linked to an external website!)

You can also use keywordtool.io.
Paul says
I will check that out! Thanks

Right now my blogs are my businesses. I once did sell physical products and used my blog to help with that, but I finally shut that website down. Now the products are the blogs, and since some have similar topics, I do interlink them when appropriate.
Paul says
Linking together is a great way to get the awareness you want. Nice job, Barbara!

That is the primary reason most folks have started blogs. (I also think it’s the primary reason most folks abandon blogs- they thought it would work overnight and not take much effort to maintain.)
Paul says
BOTH are correct statements, Roy! Having a website does take some effort! You are correct.

When you say to use popular terms do you just mean within the text or tagged words and phrases. I tuned in late to the last webinar and I think I missed this!
Paul says
Yes!
You want to think about the words and terms your visitors are looking for – these are the words you want to include in your text and tagged words and phrases!

Great post Paul. Really good clear explanation of what is a back link. Especially for people that don’t quite understand the difference, you have given good examples.
Paul says
Glad you learned something from it. Any other questions? Just ask!
