Sign up in Technorati

technorati[UPDATE – Technorati has changed – this no longer applies, Technorati stopped indexing blogs and assigning authority scores in May of 2014 with the launch of its new website, which is focused on online publishing and advertising. This post remains for historical reasons.]

Are you listed with Technorati?

What? You never heard of it? Well, as per Wilkepedia,

Technorati is an Internet search engine for searching blogs. The name Technorati is a blend of the words technology and literati, which invokes the notion of technological intelligence or intellectualism.

Everyday, thousands of visitor search for information through it. With that said, when you register your blog in Technorati, you will have a better opportunity for people to visit your site! And as I have said before, more visitors means an increase in Google’s eyes (i.e., better ranking in the search engines!)
Unlike other Blog directories, to register in Technorati, it is free! To do so, just follow these simple steps:

1. Sign In on Technorati, if you do not have an account, you can register, by clicking Join (near the upper-left corner).
2. Click your account (your userID), it’s near signout link once you are logged in.
3. Scroll down the page til you get to the My claimed Blogs area.
4. Click Claim a new blog link below.
5. Enter your Blog URL in the Start a blog claim: box and click the Claim button
5. Enter the information about your blog on the page that opens.
6. Click the Claim button

You will receive an email with a link back to your account. Once back on that page, you will have to click on the ‘Check Claim’ button. You will also have to add a confirmation code (like Y4AARRNPTNRC ) into a new post that you create. Once that post is created, you go back to your Technorati page and click on the confirm button. All this is done to prove that you own your blog!

Now, you wait a while during the time the staff of Technorati (real people) approve your blog! Nice Job!
