Learning is a funny thing – I *think* I know a lot about WordPress and I know there are lots of people who know less than I do, and other folks that know a lot more than I do!
I will always be in the middle of these 2 groups. As I keep learning, I move more towards the folks that know more, so I am happy about that 馃檪
This book is over 400 pages of PRACTICAL and helpful info with great topics like:
- Hope to get things set up right
- Keeping sites secure and optimized
- Best practices for maintaining a healthy site
- Making the most out of WordPress
plus some more technical aspects:
- Building themes an how they work
- Customizing & optimizing the WordPress Comments Area
and a ton of more cool stuff.
If you have any inkling on moving to the next level, I say this is required reading 馃檪

The book sounds great for people who want to have it within arm’s reach, but I’m the kind of girl who likes to get her hands dirty!
I love tinkering, so if I have a backup of the website, it’s no big deal if something gets broken. Just install the clone copy!
ROFL. I would no doubt use the book as a paperweight because most of the time the things I need to learn are right online and found through a quick search.

For me, Bonnie, I can never get enough reference material! Sure, tinkering around is a great way to learn, but I enjoy being directed a bit and then messing around!

It may seem strange that I am looking at your blog – I have been using Blogger as a blogging platform for four and a half years now. However, I think (every now and then) of switching to WordPress. With I want to accomplish, however, I have decided (once again) to stay with Blogger. Despite its many limitations, it doesn’t have much of a learning curve – something I do not have the time for right now. If I do, it is nice to know there is training available.
