A webinar is a seminar conducted over the web or the internet. This day and age, business owners, big or small, can now conduct seminars over the Internet. Not only can the business owners save money, but they can also serve a large audience with their message.
Everyone wants to reach a broader audience these days. With the number of ‘touchpoints’ that are needed before a sale is made, any advantage you can get, well…, it is going to help you! The latest statistic is that a person needs to see your message, on average, at least 12 times before he/she makes a purchase. This is up from 7 times, just a few years ago.
Below you’ll see the significance of increasing website traffic using webinars.
Webinars & Their Importance
The average person on the internet spends their time checking emails, getting up-to-date with the latest trends in social media, and Google searching for anything they want in particular. The average person does not have a website, nor do they have a blog. How is this of importance to you as a business owner or a blogger?
Just the thought of having a website can greatly influence the mind of an average person surfing the internet. When you hold a webinar, you get recognized being a marketing expert and a leader in your field. When you hold a webinar that targets the problems in the lives of your audience, you are making a lasting impression on the audience. Perception is everything when you are in the marketing business.
After the webinar people may come back to your website on a regular basis. This alone can increase the traffic to your website, and because your webinar targets a specific problem, it increases the possibility of you selling your products and services. These people interact with people whom they have the same problem that you help solve. This word-of-mouth advertising delivers more free targeted traffic to your website.
Webinars work great for traffic because you can be able to connect to your audience. You can put momentous, life-changing content on your website. You can also add a visionary “About Me” section, talk about yourself, let your audience know a little bit about yourself. This way, the trust between you and your audience is built strong and maintained over time.
The audience can see and hear who you are. A personal connection and mutual sense of trust are made. You are no longer a random blogger or a web business owner, you are a pioneer. Your audience, no matter how few or how many, feel their importance in the relationship you are building with them. This improves your significance in the lives of these people, ensuring a steady stream of traffic now and then.
Webinar Collaboration: A Skyrocketing Traffic Machine
With the webinars you host to connect to your audience, you get them to sign up to your email list, purchase your products, and get to know you better. Imagine the increased numbers in your traffic when you team up with someone who also uses webinars to improve their business presence online.
When you are collaborating with someone who is also a business owner in your market, you benefit from each other. Upon announcing an upcoming webinar, you can gain new clients and your partner does as well. Hosting webinars is a great way to build your brand, be a voice of authority, and attract plenty of targeted traffic. When you collaborate with other business folks in your market to host a webinar together, you can increase your traffic to your website.

Webinars are something I really want to start doing. I’m bookmarking this to read again later because I know I won’t remember everything you mentioned.

Come on back… We will make more 🙂

Great content and I completely agree. I use free webinars to drive traffic to my platforms as well and it really works!
Paul says
Great, Emily! When is your next webinar? Where can we sign up?

As a “signer-upper” for all-too-many-webinars (it hurts the pocketbook), I know how lucrative it can be (for the person hosting one) (wish it was me). One of my dreams is to host webinars. But first I have to implement all the training I’ve had in various capacities and start receiving an income. Then I’ll be in a position to 1) pay for a monthly webinar service, and 2) teach what I’ve learned. Your post is a gentle nudge in the right direction!

Tracy – There are a lot of FREE trainings you can always attend (We have free trainings in the Ultimate Blog Challenge you an join).
Also, to start off, Zoom offers a free trial account you can sign up for. There are some limitations, but you can start small!

I think I would “freeze” if I did a webinar, I’m just to the point where I’m thinking of trying my hand, or should I say my voice, on a vblog!
Paul says
That is a great entry point into webinars, Martha! Give it a shot!

Good info. How do you feel about Facebook live instead of webinars? Are they even comparable? Blogs/people I follow seem to do these and not webinars. That said, I did find the webinar you hosted to be helpful. I can see benefits in both.
Paul says
One of the biggest differences with FB live vs. webinars are that Webinars seem to be more formal. To me (and I could be wrong), a FB Live seems very spur of the moment, people catch you live if there are on, and are very casual. A webinar is more ‘structured’ where there is a set time and date, people know what you are going to be talking about, there is a sign-up process, people who do not know you /are not your friend on FB can join.
I know you can tell everyone that you are going to be live on FB at such and such a date and time, but it still seems very nonchalant.

I think I will have to attend a webinar to see how they work and how one might fit in my niche. More scary stuff 😁
Paul says
Not scary at all, Janice! They can be fun!
You can always sign at Free Monthly Training to see what we do (and it is free!)

Hi, Paul. I’m slowly adding webinars to my marketing strategy. I wrote on this topic today as well.
One thing I always slip up on when hosting webinars is “what do I talk about?”.
A few simple ideas;
Turn a blog post into a webinar (think how to’s)
Answer FAQs of your customers or even host a live AMA (ask me anything) – I think this works great for CEOs and others who don’t normally interact face-to-face with customers.
Of course, use PLR to spark a topic. (the topic of my blog post) ^_^
I agree, your webinar was informative and helpful.
P.S. Tracy, like Paul, said, Zoom has a free trial but you can use Google Hangouts for free or AnyMeeting (just the meeting option is less than $10/month)
Paul says
Sounds like you have some ideas already laid out! Just pick one and go. Keep in mind that you do not have to charge for a webinar, esp. as you are getting used to a certain platform.
When you go the AMA route, be prepared for the ANYTHING to come up – LOL – those can be some of the most fun webinars and some questions can be challenging to answer.

I am still undecided about webinars. It looks like an awesome thing to add to the package. I can see it my future after l have a proper product. Saving this for later.

If you have questions when you come back, let me know! Thanks.
