Thanks so much for sharing these videos. A story of myself and my fiancee just came to my mind.
Two years ago, we thought about where to go on holiday. We are from Austria/Europe so common goals for vacations are Greece Italy and so on as they are available for around 2000-2500 Dollars all Inclusive. Then my fiancee stumbled across a picture in the web. You could see a hammock between two beautiful palm trees and the ocean behind. She just said “Wherever that is, I want to go there – this hammock has my name on it”.
As soon as she did show me the picture it was the same effect for me. It turned out, that the palm trees and the hammock belonged to the couples swept away resort on Jamaica. For people form Austria, there is hardly any place more expensive to go to 馃檪 – maybe the Fiji islands, but Jamaica is pretty much top of the line in terms of costs. Just the flights from Austria are about 2500 Dollars (our entire normal vacations budget), then the resorts charge around 300 Dollars a day. Impossible for us, to afford this, when you think about it in a logical way. But we wanted it so much and the resort turned out to be so perfect, that we wanted to go there with every bit of our heart, It was never a question if we go there, it was just how to get there.
We found our ways, and 4 month later in late august I was standing there, right next to this palm tree and we stayed there for the most perfect vacation in our live for 7 days in couples swept away and another 7 days in couples negril which is just some kilometers away and in its own way just a perfect as the swept away. The feeling to be there, to have manged it, against all odds – unbelievable. No one we know has ever been to Jamaica, as they all got to the much cheaper Dominican Republic. They all told us to stay on the Dominican, as for them Jamaica made no sense. But we knew what we wanted and what we had to do. And boy, some people where jealous 馃檪
