I remember when I first started working online. I created websites for people that needed to have a presence on the Internet. It reminds me of how my parents started any story they used to tell…
“I remember when….”
Let me start my own story for you:
“I remember when I had to develop a website for a client. In order to get them a website that they liked, the process took days! Weeks sometimes. And in some cases, it took months!”
Let me tell you about it… After all, have you ever considered the process? Just think about it:
- The client writes the text for an article.
- The client emails the text to the developer.
- The client patiently awaits the work to be performed.
- The client hears that the work will be done in a day or so (or maybe a week!)
- The work gets done.
- The client notices the format is off, there is a typo, or the technical folks did not understand what was wanted (therefore, the job is not REALLY done).
- The client starts the process all over.
Talk about a hassle! The unfortunate part of all this is that it still CONTINUES TODAY for some people! Maybe you know someone like that (maybe you know that person a little too well!)
There is certainly a better way to have the website you want, when you want it, and how you want it. If you want something done, you have to do it yourself!
Whoa, whoa, whoa…. Did he just say that I have to create a website?
I did! Just say that!
Also, YOU can create a site. After all, who knows better what to go onto a website than YOU! There is no need for a middle man to charge you a lot of money when it won’t be right the first time. You can create it (and other sites if you want).
Using a tool called WordPress, you can take control of your website. It is a lot easier than you think.
I have been teaching people about computers since the days of Punch Cards. Pat Iyer and I have teamed up to create a course that will unlock the secrets of WordPress and allow you to gain control over your website. Hurry! The early bird discount ends September 24. Get information about the course at Your Website Your Way!
