As you move ahead with your business, sometimes you hit roadblocks. Sometimes you think there are no opportunities. Sometimes it feels like the world is against you. Les Brown addresses these issues by saying that you “Gotta Be Hungry!”
Realize that most people get to hear ‘No’ a minimum of 7 times before they get a ‘Yes!’ He went back every day and asked newly. He kept going back and asking if there was an opening. Do you have that perseverance in your business? The title of his talk is “Gotta Be Hungry” – how hungry are you for the success you want in your business?
Another great point was a single word in his phrase,
It is better to be prepared and have an opportunity than to have an opportunity and be unprepared.
When Les Brown said, “I was young, ready, and hungry ” a key factor was that he was READY. It is common sense that you should be ready, but we normally do not think that way. We want the opportunity, we want someone to take a chance on us, we want great things to come our way. When they do, we can be ready, or we can go at it with a trial and error mentality. Being ready can make success much easier!
I looked聽up this old classic I wrote about years ago – It is another great classic talk by Art Williams, long before Nike said to Just Do It.

It’s so true, that you need to be both ready and prepared for success. I think once you are both, opportunities are more likely to show up. And when they do, you’ll recognize them. Naturally, your post reminded me of something I need to do, because they always do. But this time, it feels like confirmation that what I am planning is the right next step. Yay! Thanks for that, Paul. 馃檪
