What would you say are the best steps to take to switch a website from WP.com to WP.org? Do you have an outline/step-by-step instructions so no data is lost in the transfer?
It depends on your theme, Howard. Some themes allow it to be done easily (i.e., a checkbox in one of the settings). In other cases, you may be able to change it via the CSS code. If these 2 are not possible, you could go into the actual code of the theme and change it.
I am such a newbie…what I have on my web site is one long list of all my blog posts. I have seen other blogs with really nice, neat buttons at the top, where one can click on it to get to a certain topic and/or buttons on the side that separate the posts by month and year. I would like to separate my topics according to “divorced” and “remarried” and by month/year. Is there an app that can do that, is it built in to Word Press already, or what? The only button I have is the “home” button that was already there when I got my web site (I paid for a designer to build one for me). Thanks a lot for your help, if you are willing to answer this question.
very frustrated with this website.
1. where is the correct link to the reply not the one that goes to this page
2. am taking 28 day course and day 4 goes to a webpage that will not let me access the info
in order to view the replay, enter the information requested (name and email address). You will then get a confirmation email with a link you need to click in order to get access to the video.
As for Day 4 webpage, that page is password protected for folks taking the 28-Day course. In the email with the page URL, you were supplied a password. Please enter that password in the password field in order to get access to the content.

If I do NOT want visitors to be able to leave comments, how do I totally remove the Comments box, or the notice that comments have been turned off?
