I noticed that HostGator started to ‘brand’ new website accounts with there logo where the Favicon sites. To me as a paying customer, I am not a fan of having them advertise like that for free!
In this video, I show you a nice and easy way to create a Favicon and put it on your website using the “All in One Favicon” plugin.
About two weeks ago I learned about this plugin. I love it and you are correct that it eliminates having to see the hostgator favicon on your site.
It is a powerful plugin and I love that we can even create favicon’s. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Nathaniel – Actually, changing the favicon on your site allows you to customize it regardless of your hosting company. I happen to notice that HostGator started this recently. For some reason, it made me crazy!
I don’t use WordPress, Paul, so I have never “by choice” visited your blog. BUT – I found your video intriguing. I discovered something new that I never before gave much thought to! I am sure that your WordPress followers benefit time and again from your tips.
What’s for sure, I will keep my open on the systems I use!

Thanks for stopping by, Judy, even if you were ‘forced’ to do so 馃檪 Something to keep in mind – EVERY website can have a favicon! THe solution I presented deals specifically with using a plugin to facilitate the job og changing it, however, there are other ways (you can check out my other post at WordPress Favicon)
I’m on WordPress.com (the free version) sometimes I am tempted to switch…
Sophie – I think you should! There are lots of benefits for each, but personally, I am in favor of being in control of my own site. Thanks for stopping by!
Paul, thanks for adding this tutorial. After our discussion last week, I wanted to change the favicon but could not find simple, step-by-step instructions. Your video helped me to get ‘er done! 馃檪
