I have found the most awesome sites for images! I thought I had a great list of resources, but I found another! OMG!
You can never seem to have enough images to use on your website – I always seem to be scrambling to find just the right one.
Well, allow me to open the door for you (see the connection with my image? I am ‘opening the door…” there an image of a door…聽 馃檪 ) and provide an awesome resource that I found.
Before I get to the resource, let me just point out that some are free and some may have a small licensing fee for the image. Check out each site and read up on the terms and conditions. In some cases, you have to provide credit and a link to the photographer. In order cases you are free to simply use the image. Some images will allow you to do what ever you want (edit, crop, change, add, etc.) while others you have to use as is.
As an example, for the image I used here, I provided attribution to the photographer with a link. I had the option to purchase a license to use it without providing credit to the artist (the license was only a dollar, by the way).
Let’s be clear – as the site states:
Images can be easily broken down into two categories: Images that are copyrighted and images that are under the Creative Commons License.
I think it goes with saying: You cannot use a copyrighted image.
You can figure out if an image is copyrighted by looking for a C with a circle around it: 漏
I know you are probably chomping at the bit to see the list – head over to: The Ultimate Guide to Sourcing Free Images for Your Blog and open your door for the possibilities!
Take a gander over there and then let me know if you found this information useful! Leave a comment below. Thanks!

One of the questions I’m asked most often is where to find images that can be used in blogging. Thanks for sharing such a comprehensive post on using images. I really like that it shares free and public domain sources as well.

I agree! There are truly some gems in here that I was not aware of! I will be visiting them more frequently, just for the variety! Thanks for stopping by, Tracy!

Thanks for this awesome resource Paul! I’ve seen some of them before but a bunch of them are new to me! I need to create a page for myself with links to all of the image sites I know about, including paid, and especially the ones where I have a membership. So many things to remember, so I might as well actually write them down! What a concept! 馃槈

That’s one way to keep track of them, Brad! Or, track them in something like Evernote!
