Here is a simple SEO No-No that you should never do! But first, have you ever read a blog post written by someone that had the same phrase repeated over and over and over again? In some cases it may be almost unreadable! After all, no one really talks that way, let alone write that way!
So what is the deal with that?
The post was not necessarily intended for people to read, but for Google to read! Ok, maybe not Google directly, but Google’s robots that go out and find all the content on your website. You see, When The Big G scans your post for what it is written, and when it sees certain keywords in the title, and in the first sentence, and in the last sentence, and in headlines, it naturally assumes that this post is about that phrase that keeps coming up over and over again. Forgetting all other considerations, the search engines will rank your post/page high for that keyword.
A Simple SEO No-No!
One thing that is really, really bad to do, is to insert your phrase in over and over and over in an unnatural way! Google can recognize this and suddenly it downgrades your post for trying to super-flll (or better yet, Super-Size) your article with the keyword phrase.
Jason Lancaster posted a great ‘technical’ explanation:
A lot of people Google and Bing use something called “Latent Dirichlet Allocation” to decipher content. Basically, each word and phrase is assigned a vector. Similar words/phrases have similar vectors. Therefore, one doesn’t have to use the same keyword over and over again because Google and Bing can easily understand synonyms (the math is complicated, and I don’t fully comprehend it)…
So, following Jason’s advice, I will add this – Write your blog post with your audience in mind. Write to provide valuable content that your readers will find useful. Write as if you were speaking to them and don’t load up the same phrase over and over and over again.
Avoid this simple SEO No-No and you will see that Google will like you much better!

Ha Ha – I think I read some of those posts – the same words were repeated over and over! It was painful to read.
