In addition to the first 5 Easy Changes For Your Website, here are another set of 5 More Easy Changes to Attract Clients for Your Website.
Fresh and Catchy Content
If you just started your website then you need to know that the single most important thing you need is to create fresh and catchy content. Recent and fresh topics easily grab attention to almost all of the people on the web. Most people browse the web for the latest news and advice, and that is why you need to setup fresh content on your site.
Creating a catchy content will definitely vary on your audience and your niche. You must always empathize to your readers, I mean, you are a human yourself. You know what catches you, and you need to write that down. Communicating to your readers with the right voice and style will definitely grab their attention. Make it serious, make it funny, make it interesting, make it different – it’s what makes it catchy.
Archives With Clearly Distinguishable Keywords
When you have a blog or other WordPress based website, then creating archives is a must for you. Archives are essentially directories for the old content you made. So when readers read a post on your site and probably want to read something else relevant, looking through the archives would be pretty helpful for them.
Who would ever want to search from page to page of old content just to find something they’re looking for, I mean just thinking about it makes me tired. People always want to find what they need within a few clicks of their mouse. With that, you must use keywords that accurately describe the subject of the content to organize your archives.
Search Field
The search field is one of the simple tools that can make a website visitors life effortless. It doesn’t matter what the foundation is for your website – Joomla or WordPress or anything in between – it is important to make it easily usable by anyone who visits. If your remember the past post where navigation was discussed, your search field normally goes with your navigation.
For example, Custom Search Plugin is a WordPress plugin that allows you to create custom searches. Maybe you want people to be able to search for quotes or tips on your site. You can use this tool to add functionality to your website and to help separate your business site from your competition.
Inquiry Form
What happens if a visitor on your website has a question for you? You probably might have a FAQ page (which I hope so you do), but what if the answer to a visitor’s question isn’t on that page? Ideally, you want your visitor to be able to reach out and ask their question. This keeps them engaged and connected to your blog or probably your business.
To make this happen, it has to be easy for them to contact you. And with that, you must set up a contact form or an inquiry form on your website. They just enter their email address, subject line, and ask their question. You or your customer service assistant receives the message and can promptly respond to their question. So if you still haven’t setup an Inquiry Form, you better set up one now.
FAQ Page
What is FAQ? A Frequently Asked Questions Page is where you create a list of the most common questions you receive or you think you will receive from your visitors. Including an FAQ page on your website helps make it more user-friendly. Make sure that the FAQ page is easy to find and also easy to read. It is one of the most valuable pages on your website because it directly answers any doubt or question from your visitor who is probably interested in your product or your content.
As you receive more and more similar questions, you can add it to the FAQ page since almost all people who will be interested in your product or content will probably think alike. Also, consider occasionally linking to other important internal pages. This can accomplish two things. It can help keep your visitor on your website longer. And it can help boost the rankings for the page you’re linking to.
When you’re creating your FAQ content, always remember to make it simple and easy to understand. You must answer every question as simple and straightforward as possible. If you’re witty when you create blog posts then be witty when you create your FAQ page. Don’t make your visitors wait for their questions to be answered, create your FAQ page now.
Jen Nipps says
I think my archives need work and I need an FAQ page, but I’m not too far off course.
Paul says
Jen – You actually already have this, you are using it, and you just need to emphasize it a little more. The use of Categories does this! You are categorizing each blog post so I can see BLOG, CREATIVITY, PLANNING, WRITING, etc. You might want to add a widget in your sidebar to list the categories you are using so people can find them quickly.
In my case, I have them in the sidebar and I labeled it, “WordPress Topics”
I’ll go back and update the post this this info.

I’m with Jen, my archives are very neglected. Is there a way to manage it without the use of a plugin?
Paul says
Can you define, “neglected”? Have you not been categorizing your posts?
