There are a few ways to install WordPress – you can install it manually, you can install it via the ‘One-Click’ installation available on hosting sites (via the cPanel), and you can install it using something like Fantastico.
The most safe method of installing WordPress is Manually. It might take you a little longer, but it is the most secure.
The other methods rely on doing the same thing on every installation. That means that the same name is used for several ‘aspects’ of the install regardless of who is installing them. Think of it this way – when a builder is constructing new homes in a development, do you want them using the exact same lock and key set on every front door? Of course not!
When you install manually, you have to set each and every part up and give it a value. The benefit is that these values will most likely NOT be the same as someone else that installs it manually.
Ravi over at Blogging Love has a great step by step explanation of how to do this in his post, How To Install WordPress Manually. Following the manual process, he states:
